Tummy-Yum Yum Gourmet Candy Apples started in 2017 by Divine inspiration! Prior to starting her business, Sharita Rouse worked in Oral Surgery and had never made a candy apple in her life!
What began as a hobby, working from home in her kitchen, soon spread in fame and popularity throughout Northern Virginia and beyond. The response and demand from those who tried her delectable treats was enormous, and within a week, Tummy-Yum Yum had become a full-fledged business!
Sharita started making candy apples in her kitchen, making between 800 - 1000 apples a month – selling her gourmet treats at local farmer’s markets, festivals and events throughout Manassas, Virginia until she opened her first brick and mortar 22 months ago.
Since then, Tummy-Yum Yum’s fame has grown rapidly, featured in Black Enterprise 2018 Holiday Gift Giving Guide, FOX5 DC, all the way to New York’s 2018 Harlem Fashion Week and What’s Eating Harlem!

Sharita credits her success 100% to God, knowing fully well that it was by His grace that her business has become the success that it has. She envisions using her business to create lasting career opportunities for others; hiring women who have experienced economic hardships such as homelessness and poverty – developing them to become franchise owners throughout the United States.
Tummy-Yum Yum Gourmet Candy apples currently offers 50 flavors of Caramel and Candied Apples as well as a wide-array of other gourmet treats such as Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cupcakes, Cakes, and more, perfect as a sweet-treat for one or a special occasion for others!
